Swedish & Deep Tissue Massage
Alethea Pace, a native New Yorker, is a licensed massage therapist, yoga teacher and dancer. As a bodywork practitioner in multiple fields, she has developed a keen insight into a client or student's body-mind experience. She aims to work from a place of compassion for this experience, meeting the client where they are while helping them to discover their goals and interests in relation to their physical well-being.
Since graduating from the Swedish Institute in 2006, she has worked as a therapist in a variety of settings including gyms, spas, corporate offices, physical therapy offices and private homes. Alethea's work combines Swedish techniques, myofascial release, trigger point work and joint mobilization to create a session that is both relaxing and therapeutic. She offers a complete postural assessment as well as self-care exercises and stretches to further the benefits of the massage.
Alethea took her first yoga class over ten years ago. What began as a way to warm up before a rehearsal or performance developed into a passion in it's own right. Alethea completed the teacher training certification at OM Yoga in January 2010 though her movement teaching experience extends back to her years as a professional dancer. Her yoga classes are alignment-oriented and cultivate a strong sense of body awareness. She aims to teach with compassion and respect for the individual needs and goals of the student. A first degree Reiki practitioner, Bee was initiated to the Usui System of Reiki Healing by renowned Reiki Master and Author, Pamela Miles. In addition to having Reiki hands, Bee is a certified Yoga Teacher and the Author of e-book "Heal Yourself."
"We were all born with the tools and abilities to heal ourselves. Through the years our bodies, minds and spirits often get weighed down and knocked off balance by stresses and traumas both physical and emotional. We are constantly striving to succeed and survive in a world that rarely offers us a path or the space to re-balance and heal. Sickness, distress and disease then take over our bodies. It is the western way to treat these conditions with medication which further sends our bodies and minds askew, but it need not be this way. Reiki can be used alone or as an addition to your current health protocols.
Reiki does not heal you; Reiki simply provides you the space and path that allows you to heal yourself. It is my intention to share the gift and the path of Reiki with as many people as are willing and open to receiving it, so that each person might find the space to relax, breathe, connect with their higher self and heal. While Reiki is a “spiritual healing” path, it requires no belief in any specific religion or any religion at all. In fact, Reiki does not even require you to believe in itself for it to work.
I truly believe that in a society filled with so many emotionally wounded people acting out their pain, this is possibly the most important work we can all do for ourselves and each other. Heal. Heal our hurt, so that we don't pass them on."
Reiki will feel like a warm glow of light surrounding you and running through you and most often, will leave you with a long lasting feeling of calm and peace.
