New to Yoga?

The Manhattan lifestyle often makes beginning a new endeavor feel daunting, especially when it involves fitness. Getting started in yoga can be particularly intimidating for those who don't fully understand it. If you have been interested in yoga, but haven't tried it because you are apprehensive, then you have come to the right place! House of Jai is the perfect place to begin your yoga journey.

Our teachers welcome beginners, and they will ensure that you get the proper instruction you need to make your introduction to yoga as smooth and relaxing as possible. Yoga has been around for thousands of years because it is one of the most effective ways to keep a healthy body and mind. Although it may currently be considered "trendy," yoga is not a fad, and it will never go out of style!  Yoga is the classical Indian science of union.

Through this traditional art form you will learn to connect your mind, body and breathing so that you are equipped to find ease in the midst of your hectic Manhattan lifestyle. Let's be honest; it's fantastic exercise and gives rewarding physical results. Visit or call us at House of Jai to schedule a consultation where we will match you with a perfect schedule to fit your lifestyle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I sign up for a class?
A:
To sign up, come by the studio a few minutes before the class is scheduled to begin (we recommend coming about 10-15 minutes beforehand). One of our Yoga Advisors at the front desk will have you fill out a New Student Waiver, process your payment, show you around the studio, and then you will be all set to take class!

Q: Do you take registration in advance?
A:
House of Jai does not take registration in advance for our yoga classes. We do, however, offer advanced registration for our workshops! We recommend signing up early for workshops in order to secure a guaranteed spot. We usually offer a discount on advanced registration, as well!

Q: Do I need to bring my own mat?
A:
No! At House of Jai, we proudly offer Manduka mats for our students to use free of charge! Our mats are cleaned after each use in between classes. We also provide students with clean towels free of charge.

Q: What should I wear to class?
A:
We recommend showing up for class wearing appropriate clothing you will feel comfortable moving around in. This includes athletic apparel and leggings. Please note no shoes are allowed in the two studios classes are held in.

Q: Do you offer any reduced price classes?
A:
House of Jai offers a new student trial for local students - 10 consecutive days of unlimited yoga for only $50! This offer can be used one time only, and does not need to be applied for your first visit.
Additionally, we offer reduced $10 Community Classes taught by recent teacher training graduates. Please refer to our weekly schedule to find out when we offer Community Class!
